All hail Athena! The ancient Athenians chose to honor their city’s patron and protector by featuring her on this Attic Tetradrachm, the currency used throughout the region around 450BCE. Our two sided charm is a reproduction of that coin and features a side profile of the goddess Athena on one side, with the Athene noctua, or Little Owl, on the other. The letters “ΑΘΕ” on the coin are an abbreviation for ΑΘΕΝΑΙΟΝ, or “of the Athenians”.
